We are pleased to announce that New Town High School is now a Magnet School for International Studies. As we embark upon this journey and welcome high-achieving students from across the county, we will continue to implement strategic instructional approaches in all grade levels to enable all students to meet with success. As a team, we will reshape our culture at NTHS to develop all students into responsible adults and global citizens.

I will continue to hold myself accountable for keeping our students at the center of every decision. I hold the same expectations for my faculty, staff, parents, and community members. The work of moving New Town forward cannot be done in isolation or solely within the schoolhouse. We must work together in the best interest of our children’s well-being and academic success. I invite you to partner with me to embrace and exude qualities that support our mission to prepare all NTHS students to be productive and marketable citizens, future leaders, and life-long learners.

I look forward to another successful school year. Please feel free to contact me at 443-809-1614 or via email at

James Martin IV, Principal
