The New Town Magnet Writing Center aims to improve student writing and literacy by encouraging and supporting students in a productive and judgement-free environment. It is a peer-tutoring center that provides students with support and assistance in developing their writing skills. Students who enter the writing center are paired with a peer-tutor for a one-on-one, personalized 30-minute session. Tutors are trained to work with students grades 9-12 to help them develop skills such as writing thesis statements, structuring essays, citing sources, improving grammar, and more. The New Town Magnet Writing Center is open every Wednesday from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. To sign up for appointments or for more information, please visit our Schoology group page (New Town Magnet Writing Center).
