Ms. Spencer is currently the Director of Bands and Orchestra at New Town High School (NTHS) in Owings Mills, MD. Also at New Town High School Ms. Spencer serves as the SGA Advisor, TLA Advisor, and ATL Coordinator. After school, Ms. Spencer runs the Jazz Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble, Pep Band, and Chamber Orchestra. She is entering her 4th year in her roles at NTHS, and is excited to tackle the new initiative of virtual learning with all of her students

Ms. Spencer is a graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) where she majored in Music Education . She has participated in a variety of ensembles at IUP, including the Legacy Brass Quintet, Wind Ensemble, lead trumpet of the Jazz Ensemble, Marching Band, several musicals including The Pajama game, and Into The Woods. At IUP she has also served as the Marching Band, Concert Band, Jazz Band, and Jazz Ensemble section leader. Ms. Spencer also held the position as the IUP Pep Band president for two consecutive years. She has had professional performance appearances including participation in numerous church services and weddings. She also appears in three recordings including those from university ensembles.

In addition, Ms. Spencer has attended workshops, such as Little Kids Rock, clinics, and conferences, including the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA), National Trumpet Competition (NTC), and International Trumpet Guild (ITG), where she was a member of the IUP Trumpet Ensemble which was selected as a featured performance ensemble at the 2014 conference.

Ms. Spencer is a Baltimore County Public Schools (BCPS) native as she was a student and graduated from Patapsco High School and Center for the Arts in Baltimore, Maryland with a concentration in Instrumental Music.

More recently, Ms. Spencer takes pride and honor serving as an active educator in the Baltimore County School System. Ms. Spencer has designed and led several workshops for the Music Educator community, as well as been a facilitator for BCPS New Teachers for the past two years. Ms. Spencer actively is a curriculum writer for BCPS and on another level, Ms. Spencer has written curriculum on a national level at the Library of Congress for the National Association for Music Education (NAfME). Recently, Ms. Spencer has been featured in articles by IUP, and NAfME. Soon, Ms. Spencer will also be featured in the National Teaching Music Magazine as well as featured in a documentary that is being filmed.

Originally from Baltimore, Maryland, Ms. Spencer is currently working on earning her Masters Degree at Loyola University in Educational Leadership where she is set to graduate Spring of 2021. She has plans to continue her education and earn a terminal degree in the near future.
