Our School

New Town From the AirNew Town High School opened its doors on Lakeside Boulevard in Owings Mills, MD in 2003. Since that time, New Town has consistently raised the level of academic rigor and increased student achievement. The school has a full-service cafeteria, a state-of-the-art 600-seat auditorium, and modern athletic facilities.

The interior of the school is based on a "main street" design with four academic wings. The academic programs are designed to promote a culture of success for our students. New Town offers 16 Advanced Placement courses, internship and work-study opportunities, a parallel enrollment program in conjunction with CCBC, a locally and nationally recognized Advanced Via Individual Determination (AVID) program, a CISCO academy, an Interactive Media Production program, a Freshmen Team, a National Honor Society, and a National Art Honor Society.

New Town's facilities are second to none. The Library Media Center contains 30 computers, over 18,000 volumes, and a comprehensive set of research databases for students to use both at home and in school. In addition to the Media Center, New Town has three computer science and business computer labs, an art computer lab, a music computer lab, three mobile computer labs, and two general use computer labs. This allows our students to integrate the latest in educational technology into their coursework on a daily basis. The school also offers a video production and television studio that allows the announcements (Titan TV) to be broadcast throughout the building each morning.

Student life at New Town is full of spirit. Proms, Spirit Week, pep rallies, and Homecoming are some of our Titans' favorite activities. New Town's celebration of student life and academic achievement culminates in the annual Hall of Fame induction. Students inducted into the Hall of Fame have excelled above and beyond the rest of the senior class. In addition, for those Titans who are looking to get involved, New Town offers 17 interscholastic athletic teams and 13 after-school clubs and activities.

New Town High School continues to set high standards for student achievement and success while promoting a safe and orderly atmosphere of spirit, tradition, cooperation, and creativity.
