I am a mother, a daughter, an Abby [we don't use grandma], a servant, an educator, and a Jenny-of-all-trades. I dabble in sewing, jewelry making, beaded bracelets and waist beads, make- up artistry, am a Mary Kay consultant, and I work a mean photobooth! I LOVE RAVENS football and I watch a bit of basketball too.

I was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System having graduated from Edmondson- Westside High School where I studied Food Service. With no real idea what I wanted to do with the rest of my life careerwise, I decided to attend culinary school. I attended Johnson & Wales University on a partial scholarship, turning down a full scholarship to Coppin State College. Upon graduating with an AA degree in Culinary Arts, I returned home to work. My first job from culinary school was as a line cook at the Omni Hotel in downtown Baltimore. Shortly after, I was promoted to Sous Chef at the Embassy Suites by Hilton at BWI Airport. Due to family obligations, I decided to put down my chef's hat and pick up a nail brush. I was trained and am still, to this day, a licensed manicurist in good standing for over 20 years. Think, making money during COVID! LOL!!! While working at a salon in Arbutus, I decided to return to school, this time to pursue a career in education. I graduated from Towson University with my BS in Elementary Education and Grand Canyon University online with an MS in Reading and Curri
culum Instruction. I am currently in my 17th year teaching, fifteen of those years in the elementary classroom.

Since my daughters are now ages 34, 24, and 16, with my youngest a Junior at Milford Mill High School and a grandson who is 15, I decided now would be a great time to return to my culinary roots. I have, in the last few years, re-entered the culinary field in the area of catering, as well as making the switch in my teaching to Nutrition and Foods, now Food Professional I & II since last year. This is my first year at New Town High School and I could not be more proud to be a Titan!
