I was born and raised just down the road from New Town on the other side of Reisterstown Road. After graduating from Franklin High School, I attended Salisbury University where I first studied business marketing before changing my major to Secondary Education. I have been a teacher for 9 years, spending 5 years at Chesapeake High School and the last 4 at Owings Mills High. I have taught every course from Algebra 1 to AP Calculus BC, except for Statistics. Outside of school I am about to become a father of 3 under the age of 3. When my children aren’t keeping me busy, I enjoy golfing, playing soccer, running, kayaking, and rereading Harry Potter books more times than I can count. I am looking forward to learning more about the New Town High community and having a great school year!

Originally from outside of Philadelphia, I moved to Maryland and attended Towson University with a degree in Special Education/Math Education. I have worked in education as a teacher, paraeducator, and substitute for 18 years. I have been teaching at New Town for the last 10 years. I am what you would call a “total nerd” when it come to math, and I am certain my love of the different topics comes through in my teaching.

Outside of being a teacher, I continue to own my “total nerd” status with my love of Star Wars and Harry Potter. My past students will vouch that I will gladly talk either for quite a while. My main hobby was playing rugby for over 20 years, making the national playoffs with my club a handful of times. Since my retirement, I have picked up some less intense hobbies of biking, cooking, hiking and disc golf. I enjoy being outdoors as much as possible and spending time with my family.

I attended Towson University and majored in criminal justice and minored in psychology. With that I wanted to pursue juvenile justice, and even tried my hand at the police force. Neither of those quite panned out, so I spent 6.5 years working for the state of MD at various agencies. I was great at my job, but I never felt fulfilled. A year ago I was given the unique opportunity to pursue a career in education; a career I never desired or saw myself having, yet I took the leap of faith and signed on as a special education math teacher for the 21-22 school year. Here I am a year later and I can honestly say I couldn’t imagine myself doing anything else; I absolutely LOVE my job! It has its challenges, no doubt, but the fulfillment I get from teaching is unlike anything I’ve experienced at any other job. In addition to the 100 kids I have during the day, I am the mother of an incredible 8 year old little girl whom I absolutely adore. I enjoy working out, and I loooove food (hence why I have to work out). I am currently pursuing my teaching certification, and plan to pursue my masters in special Ed once I’m done with that. Everyone’s path is different, and I’m so glad that mine lead me to New Town.

I grew up in Howard County. I graduated from Towson University as an undergraduate student with a bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Secondary Education. In the summer of 2020, I earned my master's degree in Instructional Technology through Towson University. I am in my 12th year of teaching, 10th year with BCPS. This year is my third year splitting my time teaching at New Town High School and Carver Center for the Arts and Technology. I enjoy playing tennis and watching music competition shows during my free time. Teaching has always been my passion. Building positive relationships and seeing students grow academically (especially in math) and socially over the course of each school year and beyond brings me great joy as an educator.

Originally from northeast of Philadelphia, PA. I went to Eastern University(same school as Bryan Stevenson!) and majored and Math and Secondary Education. I then began teaching and my first job I was hired because the principal thought I spoke Spanish(Not really sure why). I got married and had a few kids. We eventually moved down to Maryland and then we had a few more kids. Our house was full and we did not want to buy a bigger car so we stopped with kids after 4. After commuting to PA to work, I decided my car would not last very long driving this far everyday, so I got a job at New Town. The joke was on me because, although New Town is in Maryland, it was just as far away as my school in PA was. Oh well. Good thing my car is a beast! This summer, our landlord decided he was moving back to America and decided to kick us out. Lucky for me we now live only 20 minutes away! I knew it would all work out in the end. I have now been teaching math for 12 years and this is my 5th year at New Town. I am known for having the best beard at New Town. There are many who try to emulate, but only one Kramer beard.

Where tropical tradewinds play all day, a destination of immense beauty, and where most people vacation, I call home. I’ve since travelled 1,609 miles to call Baltimore, Maryland home leaving behind the quaint pleasures of the British Virgin Islands in exchange for a bigger city and a wider audience to share my mathematics proficiency. I have worked in the field of education for the 15 years, four of which are in Baltimore County Public School. Believe it or not my first teaching experience after college landed me in kindergarten for 1 year. I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Mathematics Education from Florida Institute of Technology (GO PANTHERS), Master of Education in Curriculum and Instructions with a focus in Mathematics at Concordia University in Portland, Oregon. Presently, I am in my 4th year at Morgan State University in the doctoral program in Mathematics Education. I just love teaching math, why?????? MATH IS LIFE!!!!!!! I enjoyed teaching at New Town High School because of its supportive administrators, professional staff & awesome and talented students. The students who are in my classes is the reason why iTeach! When I am not engaged in academia, I enjoyed travelling, hanging out with friends and reading about fashion. I am proud to be a TITAN!!!!!!!
